Hero Street has been selected as the June recipient for Eriksen Chevrolet’s Three Degree Guarantee.
For each day of the month that the temperature is within three degrees of the forecasted high temperature, Hero Street will receive $20 from Eriksen Chevrolet in Milan, Illinois. Each night, the WQAD Storm Track 8 team will predict the next day’s high temperature. The forecasted temperatures are compared to the actual temperatures recorded by the National Weather Service.
What was 2nd Street in Silvis, Illinois is now Hero Street, a block and a half long paved road with a veteran’s memorial to commemorate the eight service members from the area who were killed in action in World War II and the Korean War. In October 2022, the memorial was rededicated with new stars outside the homes of the service members remembered at the memorial.
